How old are you? You almost certainly gave your answer in years. But here's a page that makes a strong case for thinking about your age in days, and even includes a calculator that tells you your current age in days.

Measuring age in years rather than days is obviously done for practical reasons, but it can have the unfortunate side effect of causing us to live less urgently than we should, since it lulls us into thinking that we're not aging at all for more than 99% of the year. I especially like the quote on that page from Wayne Dyer: "Have you really lived 10,000 or more days, or have you lived one day 10,000 or more times?"

I just discovered your website. Much of the introductory material on it describes what you think. I read your "About Me" page, hoping it would balance all the cerebral details with at least a partial description of you as a physical human being: things such as where you live, how old you are, if you're married or what you spend most of the day doing. Do you exclude this kind of information because you find it irrelevant to your project or because you don't want to prejudice your readership or because you scorn such details of daily human existence? Or maybe because you share such intimate material about your deepest thoughts and beliefs, you want to keep some part of yourself private.

I like the way you think :) You make an excellent point, and your four theories are very good. Here are four more:
- Maybe I don't know if I want to remain private or not, but in realizing that revealing information online is largely irreversible I temporarily opt for the safer route.
- Maybe in my quest to spread the truth I intend to say things that may subject me to the risk of physical harm, and anonymity gives me more freedom to say what I really believe.
- Maybe I define my self in terms of what I believe, not in terms of the age, gender, or other characteristics of this physical body I'm forced to carry around with me.
- Maybe the way I live is radically different from the way I say others should live, i.e. I don't practice what I preach, and if I were to reveal who I really am I would expose myself as a charlatan.
I'll leave it at that (for now). Sometimes wondering is more fun than knowing...
